Emergency First Aid for Working at Heights - Basic

This module/course applies common first aid procedures to the special environment of wind turbines. Emphasis is placed on reacting effectively to accidents at work, administering first aid and performing life-saving measures on the spot under the restrictions of a wind turbine environment. Statutory provisions and standard procedures are highlighted in the module, which is a prerequisite for all work on wind turbines.

Describe the importance of First Aid in the WT environment
Identify general and specific wind turbine hazard potentials
Describe the reporting and information chain in case of emergencies
Identify illnesses and injuries
Describe first aid measures in case of injuries and illnesses
Describe the meaning of CPR and the use of an AED

Take preventative measures for accident prevention
Assess the accident situation and activate the rescue chain
Carry out lifesaving action in accordance with the A-B-C procedure
Application of the AED during a CPR
Carry out extended first aid
Using first aid materials and appliances
