Fire Awareness

This module gives an overview of the causes of fires and preventative fire protection measures. Participants are taught to extinguish naked flames with various kinds of extinguishers.

Describe typical causes of fires
State preventative fire protection measures and statutory regulations
List the fire classes
Explain diagrams for escape and emergency routes
Name different kinds of extinguishing agents and which should be chosen for different kinds of fires
Describe different extinguishing methods

Skills

Trigger the reporting and information chain
Bring oneself and other persons to safety
Extinguish naked flames with fire extinguishers

Assessment Method

100 % attendance, demonstrating fire drill with hand-held extinguishers, describe safe evacuation
