Assembly and Maintenance of Hydraulic Packages

This module provides an overview of hydraulic units and where they are installed in wind turbines. The focus is on the design and function of pressurised fluid reservoirs, pressurised fluids, filters, pipes and lines, and connector elements. Participants learn to assemble and maintain these units and are taught the dangers of working with these components.

Describe the possible dangers caused by leaks in wind turbines

Draw simple hydraulic circuit diagrams
Carry out maintenance of pressurised fluid reservoirs
Select, refill and change pressurised fluids
Assess the wear and tear, ageing and degree of contamination of pressure oils
Interpret analyses of oil samples
Select pipe connections and hose fittings
Lay and fit pipes and hoses

Vocational training in mechanics or electrical engineering, RSC-HYD-01, Basic knowledge of wind energy technology
