College Profile

Holland College’s Wind Turbine Technology program prepares you for the varied demands of the wind energy industry. Courses in math and physics reinforce your understanding of the electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems you will install and maintain in the industry. Extensive safety training and rescue drills ensure you understand and respect the strict protocols of the industry. You’ll gain significant practical experience throughout the program as well as during on the job training where you’ll service wind turbines locally and at utility scale wind farms throughout the Maritimes.

By the time you graduate, you’ll be ready to start your apprenticeship in a number of positions in the wind energy industry. Our graduates and alumni have worked as Operations and Maintenance (O+M) Technicians, Installation Technicians, Blade Technicians, Continuous Improvement Technicians, Site Managers, Human Resource Managers, Project Management Technicians and more. Because of the continued growth of the wind energy sector in North America and abroad, competent wind turbine technicians have historically been in very high demand.

This program is a licensed RSC training partner, the only global training standard for the wind industry. Graduates who complete all the requirements are eligible for RSC certification.
